How to dress in a Safari style outfit

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t planned a trip to Africa to go on a real Safari to stop you from being able to dress in a Safari style outfit if you want to, as it has always and will always be popular.  The only thing is that each year different elements get added to it.

The basic colours to play around with are khaki/olive green, tan, beige and white with leather accessories being in brown or tan.

There are various different ways of wearing the style but the most classical is the typical one which consists of beige trousers with the matching jacket which has pockets on the chest and a belt at the waist.

Described like this, it doesn’t sound very exciting so one has to dress it all up a bit.  To do this one first changes the material belt round the waist of the jacket for a wide dark brown leather one which has brass studs all over it and a large buckle in the front.  The jacket should be worn with all the buttons from the waist upwards open in order to reveal a white corset type top underneath which can even have a lace trimming on the edge.  Wear around your neck lots of different necklaces (about three or four if possible) and of varying lengths made out of dark wooden beads and brass coins or baubles and some long dangly wooden bead ear-rings.

For your feet wear a pair of dark brown suede gladiator type sandals and on your head a white straw hat with a dark brown silk scarf tied round and hanging from the back end. Finish this off with a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and you have made your Safari outfit look more up to date.
